Spring has arrived, bringing with it longer days, warmer light and perhaps a little more confidence to play with colour at home. This September, the Pretoria Factory Sale is the perfect place to explore that brighter side of Mo’s Crib, with colourful baskets, bold woven patterns and unexpected combinations waiting to be discovered across more than 1,200m² at Castle Gate.

For those who know Mo’s Crib for our natural tones and beautifully textured neutrals, consider this an invitation to look a little closer. There is a colourful side of Mo’s Crib waiting for you too.

This Spring, Choose Colour

There is something about the beginning of Spring that makes us see our spaces differently. Perhaps it is the warmer light coming through the windows or the first signs of green returning outside, but suddenly a room that felt perfectly comfortable through winter starts asking for something new. That doesn't necessarily mean changing everything. Sometimes one bold piece is all it takes. A colourful basket beside a neutral sofa, an unexpected pattern in an entranceway or a bright woven piece amongst natural textures can shift the mood of a room without changing what you already love about it.

This Spring, we're embracing those small moments of colour and inviting you to discover what yours could look like.

The Colourful Side of Mo’s Crib

Neutral doesn't have to mean colourless, and colourful doesn't have to mean maximalist. Across Mo’s Crib collections, you'll find colour expressed in different ways, from softer combinations and gradual changes in tone to confident patterns designed to stand out.

Our Ombré Collection plays with colour through beautiful transitions, allowing different shades to flow into one another across the weave. It is an easy introduction for someone who wants to bring more colour into their home while maintaining a sense of softness and balance.

The Tlou Premium Collection, on the other hand, is made for a little more presence. Bold combinations, intricate woven patterns and expressive colour give these pieces a character of their own.

Both offer something different, but that's part of the fun. You don't have to know which one belongs in your home until you see it.

One Bold Piece Is All It Takes

If you normally gravitate towards natural fibres, earthy shades and quieter interiors, introducing colour doesn't have to mean abandoning your style. In fact, a neutral room can be one of the best places for a colourful piece to live. Think about a vibrant woven basket beside a cream sofa, a patterned piece against a warm timber surface or a rich shade sitting amongst greenery. The contrast gives both elements more room to be noticed.

You could also start by looking at the colours already hiding around your home. Perhaps there is a green running through an artwork, a warm orange in a cushion or a subtle pink in a rug. Choosing a basket that picks up one of those shades can make the whole space feel more considered. And sometimes, the best approach is simply choosing the colour you love.

See Colour Differently Up Close

Colour is only part of what makes these pieces interesting. Come closer and you begin to notice the weave, pattern, texture and small details that aren't always obvious through a screen. A combination that might initially catch your attention because of its colour becomes even more interesting once you can see how it has been woven. That tactile experience is one of the things we're most looking forward to bringing to Castle Gate.

The Pretoria Factory Sale gives you an opportunity to see different pieces alongside one another, pick them up, compare colours and patterns and perhaps discover something completely different from what you originally had in mind. Sometimes you need to see a piece in person to know.

1,200m² to Find Your Colour

This year's Pretoria Factory Sale is going to look a little different.

For the first time, we're moving away from our familiar warehouse setting and taking the Factory Sale experience to Castle Gate Lifestyle Centre, where more than 1,200m² will be filled with Mo’s Crib pieces waiting to be explored. Amongst the familiar favourites, natural tones and beautiful textures, look out for bold colour, vibrant patterns and unexpected combinations, alongside an ever-changing mix of Factory Sale finds.

Come with a wishlist if you have one, but leave a little room for something unexpected.

You might arrive convinced you're a neutral person and leave carrying the brightest basket in the room.We wouldn't blame you.
