There was something noticeably different about our Factory Sale floor in Ballito. Among the warm, natural tones of woven baskets, cane furniture and handcrafted homeware were little flashes of bright pink moving through the crowds. For Women’s Month at Mo’s Crib, our team chose to wear pink for Day 1 of the Durban Factory Sale, turning what we wore into a beautiful celebration of the women around us.

From the moment the doors opened, the colour brought a different energy to the space. It was bright, joyful and also unmistakably Mo's Crib.

Factory Sale weekends are some of our busiest times of the year, so our team is constantly moving. Someone is helping a customer find the right basket, another person is carrying furniture, someone else is answering questions, packing purchases or helping a customer take their new pieces to the car. With thousands of people moving through the space, our pink shirts certainly made it easier to spot a Mo’s Crib team member across the Factory Sale floor. This detail came to mean something more than that. This was Women’s Month, and wearing pink became our team's own little way of participating in the celebration.

There was something beautiful about seeing those pops of colour against everything else happening around us. As the space filled with customers, those flashes of colour moved through the crowds, bringing brightness and lightness to the room. Against the natural textures of our pieces, the pink felt almost like another design element woven into the weekend.

Perhaps one of our favourite parts was seeing the entire team embrace it. Women’s Month naturally gives us an opportunity to recognise and celebrate women, but we loved that the men on our team joined in too. There was no hesitation about wearing pink. Instead, everyone became part of the moment.

It gave the weekend a lovely sense of togetherness and reminded us that celebrating women does not belong only to women. Anyone and everyone has an important role to play in recognising, supporting and championing the women in their lives, workplaces and communities.

Throughout the weekend, we really wanted our customers to experience moments created with women in mind. Our Baskets & Beauty Experience with Clarins brought beauty and home together, giving guests an opportunity to pause between shopping and enjoy personalised skincare experiences. There was champagne to sip, coffee to enjoy, beautiful pieces to discover and plenty of moments to simply slow down.

The intention was not to make Women’s Month feel like a theme placed over the entire Factory Sale. It's something we wanted to be felt naturally throughout the experience. In the pink. In the beauty moments. In the conversations. And, most importantly, in the people.

When we think back on this year’s Durban Factory Sale, there will be so much to remember. The queues before the doors opened. The excitement when customers found the pieces they had been hoping for. Families and friends shopping together. Baskets being carried through the crowds. Champagne glasses in hand. Conversations between our team and customers who have supported us year after year.

To every member of our team who embraced the celebration, thank you. And to every woman who walked through our doors, works alongside us, creates with us, shops with us and continues to be part of the Mo’s Crib story, we celebrate you.

The pink shirts may be packed away for now, but what they represented stays with us long after the Factory Sale floor has been cleared.

Happy Women’s Month, from all of us at Mo’s Crib.
